The finger prick, and what happens next

A BioTwin kit uses a tiny finger prick at home. No clinic, no fasting, no needle fear. Here is the path your sample takes.

At home: 5 minutes a day for 5 days

The kit contains a sterile lancet, a set of dried blood spot (DBS) cards, and simple step-by-step instructions. In the morning, you warm your fingertip, click the lancet, and let 2 drops of blood fall onto the card. The whole routine takes about 5 minutes.

You repeat it for 5 days in a row. No fasting, no appointment, no clinic visit. Five cards over five days captures your biology across a normal week of your life instead of freezing it into a single snapshot. That matters, because a single morning blood draw mostly tells you about that morning. Five cards tell you about you.

When the week is finished, you seal the cards, drop the package in the mail, and forget about it. The hard work happens next.

In the BioTwin lab

Your cards arrive at the BioTwin laboratory. Each DBS card is reconstituted, the blood is recovered into liquid form, and the sample is fed into a mass spectrometer. The raw molecular signal is captured and stored.

From there, the pipeline takes over. Biomarker signals are extracted computationally from the raw spectra, cleaned, and normalized against BioTwin population reference data so your values can be compared meaningfully. Those normalized signals are then aggregated into your 7 personalized scores. Nothing is guessed. Every score traces back to the molecules actually present in your blood.

In your portal

Within 1 to 3 months, your 7 health scores appear in your BioTwin portal. If you have sent more than one kit, you also see trend charts showing how each score has moved since your previous sample. Three programmes run on the same blood drop: Healthspan Trajectory, Elite Human Optimization, and Weight Management. Each of them reads your biomarkers through a different lens, so one kit unlocks three parallel views of your biology.

And because BioTwin stores the raw signal, your twin keeps learning. Every time a new analysis is validated, it is applied retroactively to your existing sample. Your portal keeps getting sharper without another finger prick.
